Analog Annelid is the creation of Garth Gillespie.

Analog Annelid is a remake of the ubiquitous "Snake" and "Worm" games in which
the player controls the movement of such a creature in an attempt to collect
apples, numbers, or whatever. Upon collecting these items, the creature grows
in length. This process continues until the creature collides with itself or
perhaps a wall or some other obstacle.

Most of these games only allow the hapless forager to make 90 turns. This is
for the sake of easier programming both in the game itself and in the display
of graphics.

Analog Annelid absolves itself of this stigma for a smooth, free-flowing game
world and more complex gameplay.

The following information is available inside the game while paused:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Controls:

       mouse left/right, : steers the worm CCW/CW
keyboard [left]/[right]

mouse button, : starts, pauses, or unpauses the game
                [space]

               [escape] : quits the game

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objects:
Apple: collect these for points and length.
Speeding Segment: speeds the worm up.
Slowing Segment: slows the worm down.
Growing Segment: makes the worm wider.
Shrinking Segment: makes the worm thinner.
Swirling Vortex: has a random, wacky effect!

Although I consider Analog Annelid a final release, I haven't been able to
test it on many types of hardware. So, if the program happens to crash or
simply not run, please send me an error report.

Just include all of the information you can think of about how you installed
it, ran (or tried to run) it, and anything else you can think of. Also include
the contents of the files 'stdout.txt' and 'stderr.txt', if they exist in the
same folder as the game.

Thanks for your help and enjoy the game!
